WORLD MASTERS INDOOR CHAMPIONSHIPS
KAMLOOPS CANADA 2010
Congratulations to
Ranell Hobson
for the awesome efforts she displayed at the recent World Indoor champs in
canada. It wasn't the fact that Ranell picked up two
silver medals
in the 60m and 4 x200m relay, that made the efforts such an accomplishment but
it was the fact she had re-torn her hamstring only a few weeks before the
championships. She had several muscle tears leading up to the competition, so
with little or no training leading in, it made her results something to marvel
at !!!!
RESULTS:

AUSTRALIAN JUNIORS AND YOUTH
CHAMPIONSHIPS 11-13 MARCH 2010
The squad had four athletes competing in the recent Australian Junior and Youth
Champs which is a national level competition where the best junior athletes in
the country compete. The four athletes
Alison Ruse,
Emilie Duval,
Natalie Apikotoa
and
Thomas Soliman
all picked up medals at these championships putting them amongst the top 3
athletes in their respective age groups in the country!!! Absolutely super human
effort from Thomas Soliman (tom tom) winning a
silver medal
in the 18yrs long jump and then backing up to win a
bronze medal
in the 20yrs long jump all that on a injured knee that required surgery a few
weeks later.
RESULTS:
Alison
Ruse:-
What a fine athlete ally has proven herself to be,
backed up by her awesome results at this competition showing she is one of the
best jumpers and sprinters in the country. Ally has had absolutely superb
results this season winning medals at two national level competitions (3rd at
National Allschools in the Triple Jump) as well as
picking up numerous medals at two state level competitions. She is a great
competitor who seems to always performs at her best when she needs it the most.
She has had as a good a season as any athlete I have ever coached. Her 200m at
the State little Athletics was phenomenal and breath taking :) Great role model for
other younger athletes to aspire to!

Nat Nat has really matured into a fantastic athlete, she has worked really hard
this season and is seeing that work pay off with great results at state and
national level. She like alison has proven herself to be one of the best
sprinters and jumpers in Australia. Makes me proud of Nat Nat knowing how
perseverant she has been, with a great training ethic always giving 100% of
herself!

Emile
Duval:- Emi has had a fine
season, topped off with making her first national competition and claiming her
first ever national medal. Emi is a very talented athlete who is just realizing
her potential this season with medals at state, allschools and nationals this
season. Has put in alot of effort at the training track the season with a big
dose of self belief which ranks her with some of the best jumpers in Australia.
Triple Jump U20yrs -

Thomas Soliman:-
Tom Tom has had a remarkable season topped off with two medals at this
competition, a new long jump pb of 7.30m all that after injuring his knee in
november. This injury required surgery after this comp so after picking after
medals at allschools, state juniors and now national juniors shows how
courageous
an athlete Thomas is!! He would have to be one of the hardest working athletes I
have had the pleasure to coach together with being one of the finest athletes in
the country and role model for future champions. A champion in every sense of
the word sums up Thomas to a tee :)
Long jump U18yrs:-
Silver Medal
with 7.07m
Long Jump U20yrs:-
Bronze Medal
with 7.26m

AUSTRALIAN MASTERS NATIONALS -
PERTH APRIL 2010
Our squad had two athletes, Alan Carey and Ranell
Hobson represent at the latest National Masters Championships in perth this
year, and represent they did with outstanding performances in their respective
age groups. Both Alan and Ranell have had very successful seasons this year,
even though both at times had their share of injury concerns, but this didn't
stop them from bagging a swag of medals at these championships. I would have to
say that Alan and Ranell would have to be the most inspirational athletes in the
squad, the way they train and help encourage and motivate the other athletes in
the squad is a testament to their character as elite champion masters athletes
but also a testament to their character as genuine champion human
beings. I can confidently say that both of them are the most respected athletes
in the squad and are held in high esteem by both athletes and family members
alike!!
It is a priviledge to have both of them as
athletes in the squad but it is an honour to have both of them and their
families as dear friends :)
