The competition was extremely hard with competitors from all parts of the globe competiting. Ranell has now proven she is one of the best sprinters in the world for her age division.
CONGRATULATIONS TO THE FOLLOWING SPRINTOLOGY CREW MEMBERS THAT COMPETED AT THE ZONE, REGION AND STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS FOR THE 2007 SEASON. The following is a summary of how our squad members faired at the different 2007 championships: ZONE CHAMPIONSHIPS 2007 RESULTS: Top 8

It was another great weekend with the usual highs and lows of any major championship. It was awesome to see Ryan win his first little A's state medal with one shoe on, to witness Kacee, Luisa and Jye win their first state medals in their first ever state. How fantastic was it to see a real superstar in Filio Aokuso not only win the shot and discus but break both records aswell. All credit goes to her for her hard work and to her throws coach " Mr. Bruce" who would be one of the best coaches going around, he is an inspiration to me as a fellow coach for the dedication and passion he puts in to his coaching. Her brother , Paulo, also claimed gold in the discus with a great 38.06m throw. Once again all our athletes conducted themselves with great sportsmanship, they were gracious in defeat and modest in winning. I feel very privileged to be associated with such fine athletes, and I must point out it is thru their continued hard work at training, and their ability to listen and take in the things they are taught that makes them true champions. They all would be great athletes even if they were coached by someone else, because in the end they put the hard work in, they do the reps on the track and they are the ones with the talent. I'm just the bus driver taking them on their journey, where they get off is up to them. It doesn't matter who's driving the bus, because in the end the bus will reach it's destination regardless who's driving it. I would just like to point out some of the performances from the weekend. It was great to see Mihaela win her first gold state medal in the triple jump with a pb of 9.76m having to come from behind to win it just ahead of her team mate Luu Luu who jumped 9.64m also a pb. There were some great performances in the other jumps aswell, with Thomas pulling out a big 5.78mpb on his last jump 25cm before the board to win. Ryan jumped a pb of 5.34m in the same competition to finish fourth. Dejanee had to pull out 2 pb's in a row of 4.84m & 4.89m to claim the silver in the long jump on her last 2 jumps. Mihaela showed her heart again in the long jump pulling out a 4.42m on her last jump to claim the bronze with a saw back. Joanne came equal 4th with a great 4.35m jump, to back up from her 4th place in a tight 100m. Alan grabbed a great pb in the triple jump with 11.67m to claim the bronze. There were some gutsy and courageous runs on the track with Nicholas's 400m bronze medal, he took it out strong and fought hard the last 40m to get the medal. Thomas's and Jye's 200m runs were great fighting runs to both hold off the other athletes to finish 3rd in their respective age groups. Kacee's pb in the heat of the 80m hurdles to make the final, blasted it out in the final, showed courage to be aggressive but unfortunately hit one of the hurdles and stopped. But to her credit she started again and finished the race, courageous effort. Taylor Doyle's 2 medal effort of gold and silver in the AWD 100m and long jump, awesome effort. Remember squad members, I need no thanks or gratitude for your efforts and achievements. The people you should be thanking are your parents and family who give you the love, support and opportunity to train to better yourselves. Without their sacrifices that they make to bring you to training, all your successes would not be possible. So for that be forever grateful. Thank you for a fun productive 2006-2007 season. Thanks parents and friends for your continued love and support thru out the year. Shez Top 8
