National Allschools 3-4 December 2011 Brisbane

We had Natalie, Taylor and Madeleine competing at the National Allschools up in brisbane on the weekend. All three girls were in long jump and triple jump events over the two day event, with all three girls winning medals and placing top 8 in their other event. What a fantastic result for natalie, taylor and madeleine capping off a wonderful school season making top 8 in Australia in both long and triple jump. They have well and truely proved to be 3 of the best jumpers in the country.

RESULTS:

Taylor Garrett: Gold u/14yrs long jump 5.12m, 4th u/14yrs triple jump 10.92m
Madeleine Rushton: Bronze u/16yrs triple jump 11.68m, 7th long jump 5.47m
Natalie Apikotoa: Bronze u/18yrs triple jump 12.25m, 7th long jump 5.36m

 

News Squad Update NSW State Relays 2011

Congratulations to all the squad members that competed on the weekend. The squad had awesome results with the girls winning the open womens and u14yr long jump and the silver in the u18yr long jump. The u14yr boys got bronze in the long jump aswell. We got two bronze medals in both the u16yrs girls 4x100m (52.07) and the u18yrs girls 4x100m (50.18) fine runs with fast times :) There was some awesome performances over the weekend with natalie running a fantastic third leg with the u20 boys 4x100m and also maren jumping a top 20 in Australia 5.85m in the long jump. Well done to the masters men with some gutsy runs over the weekend and also picking up a bronze in the 4x100m 120+.

News Squad Update Club Prem 22 October 2011

What a great start to the senior season with squad members doing massive pb's or going close to them. First taste for some younger athletes tiana, kailey and hayden who all did  great today. Steven tripney would have to be a standout performer of the day with a massive 15.21m triple jump a 28cm pb and puts him into the top 10 Australian Open rankings. He joins thomas, natalie, maren, maddie rushton and preya who are also in open australian rankings for long or triple jump :) Madeleine Rushton had a superb 100m today posting a 12.42 and backed up with  a 31cm pb of 11.99m in the triple jump !

CONGRATULATIONS TO NATALIE APIKOTOA BECOMING THE 2011 YOUTH COMMONWEALTH GAMES TRIPLE JUMP CHAMPION

Natalie representing Australia for the first time, continued her remarkable rise in triple jump by winning the Gold Medal at the Youth Commonwealth Games in the Isle of Man with a Personal Best jump of 12.55m. Tayler Currie 15yrs gets a well deserved mention for his efforts at the recent PDSSSC competition, especially with his run of injuries and illness over the past 12months. Tayler with his continued patience and training ethics of 100% effort and pure determination, saw him do a massive pb in the long jump of 6.48m breaking the record held by his squad member Thomas Soliman. He then backed it up with a 23.60 pb in the 200m aswell as breaking the record !

Taylor had an amazing season capped off with winning the national u/14yrs girls triple jump Gold medal and then breaking a 21years old state little athletics record in the u/13yrs triple jump of 11.25m, making her the best u/13yr old female triple jumper in little athletics history :) She then won another two national medals at the Australian little athletics championships!

MADELEINE RUSHTON 14YRS

An exceptional season for an exceptional athlete! Madeleine who came to me as a 400/800m runner has over the last 3years proven herself to be one of the best sprint/jumpers in the state and australia. As a 14yr old her 11.68m jump at the NSW junior champs ranked her in the Open Women Australian rankings for 2011, great reward for an absolutely tireless trainer.

TIANA JABER 11YRS

What a fine season Tiana has had, breaking the State little athletics 60m hurdles record along the way. Two years in a row she has made the Nationals School Sport Australia for long jump, last year winning a bronze medal and then recently in september came fourth in the same event. Tiana also smashed a 20 year record at her region athletics carnival, breaking the u/11yrs triple jump with a jump of 10.18m. I have no doubt that tiana has the passion to continue to be one of the best athletes in the country :)

COMPANY PROFILE:

At Sprintology we use state of the art wireless infra-red electronic timing system for all our speed testing, speed timing and sprint training. We also use a Bushnell Radar Gun to test peak velocity (in mph) and have an electronic power mat that measures power by body displacement.
We are continually researching new sprint and speed training methods from within Australia and overseas.

We believe a coach can make all the difference in the world when it comes to athletic performance. A coach should push you to your limits but not beyond them. A coach should lead by example, use positive reinforcement and identify each athlete’s individual learning style.

At Sprintology, our coaches do all of these things. Our coaching philosophy is to foster a positive, safe and entertaining environment that promotes cognitive, psychological and physical development for athletes of all ages and skill levels.


COGNITIVE DEVELOPMENT:
Helping the athlete to understand what he/she is doing and how it will contribute to his/her success. Once the athlete grasps these concepts, they are able to coach themselves while at practice, and remember the things that are important to their performance.

PSYCHOLOGICAL DEVELOPMENT:
Not only does the athletic performance of our clients improve, but their self-confidence soars. And this
self-confidence transfers to other areas of an athlete's life as well, such as schoolwork and personal life.
